Liftoff for MTView

SEOUL South Korea — MTV Networks Korea has announced the launch of a new multimedia platform called MTView, together with four leading Korean Web sites and online portals, to create the largest video content portal in Korea. MTView brings together Bugs, Empas, Joins.com and Pandora TV with MTV BOOMBOX, with 15 million online viewing streams and 23 million registered members, to showcase MTV-branded content along with user-created content from Pandora TV, music videos from Bugs, news and entertainment information from Joins.com and the Web search ability of Empas.



Orengo upped at SPTI

Sony Pictures Television International announced Monday that Angel Orengo has been promoted to senior vp distribution, Latin America and the Caribbean. Orengo continues to report to T.C. Schultz, SPTI senior vp and managing director, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Keith LeGoy, SPTI exec vp distribution. Orengo will lead the mobile entertainment team in Latin America that is charged with business development and the sale of mobile TV/video, games and personalization products to mobile operators and customers.



WE extends reach

Rainbow Media Holdings LLC has announced significant international clearances for its Women's Entertainment (WE tv) programming. The deals — concluded by London-based iD Distribution — take WE content into Poland, Hungary, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Australia and Brazil. WE tv series have also been sold to the U.K., Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Turkey, Finland, Korea, the Middle East and New Zealand.
