Pusan pair

SEOUL — Composer Ennio Morricone and director Peter Greenaway will be honored for their movie careers at the 12th Pusan International Film Festival, organizers said Monday. Morricone, known for about 400 movie scores, will be a special guest Thursday on opening night. Greenaway will teach a master class Oct. 9 and also will be on hand to answer questions after the Asian premiere of his latest film, "Nightwatching." The festival runs through Oct. 12.



Awards home

ROME — The fledgling RomaCinemaFest will become the permanent home for the Solinas Awards, Italy's best-acknowledged screenwriting prizes, organizers said Monday. The second annual festival, scheduled to run Oct. 18-27, will be the backdrop for this year's awards, which will be dished out Oct. 24. Founded in 1985 and named after Oscar-nominated Italian screenwriter Franco Solinas, who died in 1982, the awards have been presented in several locations around Italy throughout their history.



'Intelligence' report

TORONTO — The Hallmark Channel has re-upped the Canadian cop drama "Intelligence" for a second season, series distributors Daro Film Distribution and Thunderbird Films said Monday. Monaco-based Daro and Vancouver-based Thunderbird said they extended their worldwide deal with Hallmark Channel for "Intelligence," from showrunner Chris Haddock ("The Handler"). "Intelligence" stars Ian Tracey as the head of a West Coast crime family and Klea Scott ("Minority Report") as the head of a local crime unit.
