Writers to resume pickets despite talks
EmptySTRIKE ZONE: LATEST NEWS AND UPDATES
Striking scribes will return to the picket lines Monday at various Los Angeles area locations, even though the guild's chief negotiators will be sitting down with their counterparts with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers to resume talks.
The WGA posted on its Web site Wednesday its Week 4 strike schedule, which listed nine locations for the writers to picket, including Warner Bros., Fox Studios and Sony Pictures Studios, as well as morning and afternoon shift times.
Guild members have been on strike since Nov. 5 after talks broke down the day before between it and the AMPTP.
At issue are residuals for DVD sales as well as compensation for new media, such as Internet downloads of movies and TV programs.
