'XOXO' Writer to Rewrite 'Heist Society' for Lionsgate, Elizabeth Banks' Brownstone (Exclusive)
The female-fronted feature follows a young woman that comes from a family of art thieves and tries to go straight.
Lionsgate's female-fronted art-thief movie, Heist Society, is getting a rewrite.
The long in-development project, which is being produced by Elizabeth Banks and husband Max Handelman’s Brownstone Productions, has tapped Dylan Meyer to take a second pass at the script.
Heist Society — an adaptation of Ally Carter's best-selling novel of the same name — follows a young woman who comes from a family of art thieves and tries to go straight, only to get pulled back into the family "business."
Lionsgate, which optioned Carter's best-selling novel back in 2013, declined to comment.
Meyer is an up-and-coming screenwriter who penned Netflix's recently released EDM-inspired original film XOXO starring Sarah Hyland. She also currently has a project in development at HBO.
Meyer is repped by WME, Beam and Hansen Jacobson.
