'Young and the Restless' to Air Jeanne Cooper Tribute
CBS will air a special episode on May 28 dedicated to the late soap star.
The Young and the Restless is paying tribute to the late Jeanne Cooper.
The CBS daytime soap will air a special episode dedicated to Cooper, who portrayed Katherine Chancellor for four decades, at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28.
Fellow castmembers, friends and family of Cooper -- who won a Daytime Emmy -- will be on set together next week to shoot a celebration of the actress' life.
The Young and the Restless cast will share their favorite memories of Cooper in addition to personal recollections of their friendships with her. Interviews with Cooper from the soap's 40th anniversary and clips of her years also will be included in the special.
“Jeanne Cooper was a legend, and we want to give her the tribute she deserves,” said Angelica McDaniel, senior vp daytime at CBS. “The cast will honor their longtime friend, family member and co-worker in the greatest way possible, as we celebrate her life and vibrant spirit and share it with the audience who loved her as much as we did.”
Cooper died from an undisclosed illness Wednesday. She was 84.
