"I personally think every woman should own a feminine tuxedo," says the designer during New York Fashion Week.

Several designers have two lines: One is their (expensive) main collection and the other, often a bridge line spinoff. Zac Posen has three, and they couldn't be more different. His main collection is red-carpet glamour drama, exquisite old Hollywood style gowns; Zac Zac Posen is much more casual, but still has long dresses, in addition to sweaters, pants and bags — all at very reasonable prices and that Posen flair.

Now he's just completed his second collection for stalwart American classics brand Brooks Brothers, and he showed it at NYFW at a very well-represented presentation where authors Marisa Acocella Marchetto and Wednesday Martin attended, as well as Posen's television partner/Project Runway judge Nina Garcia, PR giant Karla Otto, writer Amy Fine Collins and celeb publicist Carrie Byalick.

The Hollywood Reporter talked to Posen about the Brooks Brothers fall 2016 collection, which was a muted array of daywear (though there was one velvet gown and one tux) that relied on menswear influences and perennial classics, including a camel-hair coat. Plus new BB looks like print pajama looks, a brocade coat and two sharply tailored tuxes for those who want to traverse a red carpet as cool as Zendaya did at the Grammys. The BB collection also features beautiful bags and shoes, as well as jewelry with brushed gold finishes, by Posen.

You have flats and low-heeled Chelsea boots with socks with many of the looks.

Yes, I think women have finally embraced fashion-looking flats, and I wanted to style them with a little fun. It's nice to see that something comfortable can be stylish. Brooks Brothers is all about combining style with comfort and it always has been. I've just updated it a little.

So what inspired these looks? It's a lot of black, gray, silver, camel and little print. So much of spring 2016 and now fall 2016 is wild colorful prints.

Brooks Brothers isn't about trends — it's about classics. Great investment pieces done in the highest quality with fair prices. That's a rare thing in today's market. This collection, we introduced evening: the velvet gown and the two tuxes. I personally think every woman should own a feminine tuxedo. We also have touches of Chinoiseries, plus lush tweeds, cashmere, camel.

Well, you've got quite a busy week — three shows. That's insane.

Yes, and I'm also dying to see my friend Katie Holmes' new movie, which she stars in and directs. She always surprises me!
