Zanne Devine Launches Cross Country Entertainment
"Easy A" producer Zanne Devine is pacting with Multiple Media Entertainment to launch a Vancouver-based indie movie distribution outfit, with Myriad Pictures retaining a first-look deal to acquire international distribution rights to its product.
TORONTO -- Former Kennedy/Marshall Co. president Zanne Devine and her Canadian distribution shingle Pacific Northwest Pictures are going into business with Multiple Media Entertainment to form indie movie distributor Cross Country Entertainment (CCE).
The move brings Devine and Kirk D’Amico, CEO of Santa Monica-based Myriad Pictures, into business with Michael Taylor, CEO of Toronto-based Multiple Media Entertainment, and company chairman Drew Craig.
CCE is to acquire all filmed entertainment rights, and release pictures through its distribution arm, Cross Country Releasing.
Myriad has a first-look deal with CCE to acquire international distribution rights to its product.
Jennifer Graham, senior vp of sales and acquisitions at Multiple Media, will add vp of sales and acquisitions at CCE to her duties.
And Emily Alden, vp of development and production at Pacific Northwest Pictures, also becomes vp of development and production at Vancouver-based CCE.
Devine will continue to split her time between Los Angeles and Vancouver.
Her most recent film credits include the 2010 comedy Easy A, starring Emma Stone and Stanley Tucci.
CCE’s film slate includes Charlie Zone, a thriller starring Amanda Crew and directed by Michael Melski, and OZ3D, a $20 million 3D CG animated feature film recently green-lit by Multiple Media and Arc Productions, the Toronto digital animation and visual effects house.
