Cheryl Boone Isaacs, the recently re-elected president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will be honored at the YWCA Greater Los Angeles' 13th annual Rhapsody Ball, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Isaacs and United Way of Greater Los Angeles president and CEO Elise Buik will both receive the Silver Achievement Award in recognition of their service to the community on Nov. 14 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The Xerox Corporation will also be recognized with the YWCA GLA's Corporate Champion Award at the Ball, which is the main fundraising event for an organization that helps the area's most at-risk population, emancipated foster youth and other underserved individuals.

The annual event is being co-chaired this year by YWCA GLA ambassador Kathy Ireland and Mavis Leno, and hosted by the Society of Benefactrix, a major supporter of YWCA GLA programs.

YWCA GLA’s chief executive officer Faye Washington told THR: "Cheryl Boone Isaacs is a splendid example of the extraordinary African-American female leadership advances in American culture, art, commerce and, so importantly, social activism. She has shined in her furthering the aspiration and success of one of America’s greatest ambassadors, the motion picture industry, with achievements already honored with her induction into the NAACP Hall of Fame and other distinguished acknowledgements."
