Alexander Payne Honored by ACE
"The Descendants” director will receive the Golden Eddie at the Feb. 18 ceremony.

Alexander Payne will receive American Cinema Editors' Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award during the 62nd Annual ACE Eddie Awards.
The event, which honors film and TV editors, will be held Feb. 18 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
Payne’s The Descendants recently won the Golden Globe for best dramatic feature and was nominated for five Academy Awards including best picture, best director, best adapted screenplay, best actor and best film editing for Payne's longtime editor Kevin Tent.

Payne's credits include Sideways, About Schmidt, Election and Citizen Ruth.
He won an Oscar and BAFTA for best adapted screenplay for Sideways, shared with Jim Taylor. Sideways earned additional accolades including a DGA nod, and Academy Award nominations including best picture and best director.
Payne received his first Oscar nomination for best adapted screenplay for Election.
