Emmys 2012: 'Breaking Bad' Star Aaron Paul Can't Believe He Beat Costar for Win
"I cried in his arms; I said, 'This doesn't make sense to me that I'm on this stage and you're not,'" the actor said after defeating Giancarlo Esposito, who played meth mogul Gustavo Fring.
Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul took home his second Emmy for best supporting actor in a drama series Sunday, and his win over Giancarlo Esposito left him emotional.

After defeating Esposito, the actor told reporters: "I cried in his arms; I said, 'This doesn't make sense to me that I'm on this stage and you're not.’”
It was Esposito's first nomination after playing the terrifying meth mogul Gustavo Fring on the series for three seasons.
“What he's done with Gustavo Fring is just impeccable; it's so bizarre that I’m the one standing in front of you all right now." Paul noted that the win was "unreal" and stood as proof that dreams can come true. "It's unreal that I'm able to do what I've always dreamed of," he said, noting that he hopes Jesse gets a fitting send-off.PHOTOS: Emmys 2012: THR's Instagram Photos From the Red Carpet
During his acceptance speech, Paul thanked series creator Vince Gilligan as well as the AMC drama’s writers for not killing him off, which had originally been the plan during the show's early days.
Paul’s was the evening's only win for Breaking Bad, which saw costar Bryan Cranston fail to win a fourth lead drama actor award for playing Walter White. Homeland’s Damian Lewis took home honors in that category.
