The actor caught on camera with a woman sitting on his lap, all flirty-like -- causing a big reaction on Twitter from viewers who wondered who she was. (Here's a photo of the duo mugging for the camera.)

"Is Ben Kingsley's daughter sitting on his lap to save money?" said comedian Mo Rocca. Meanwhile, Sandra Bernhard quipped, in all-lower-case on the social-networking site: "who is that broad hanging all over ben kingsley? on her way to sandals resort just thought she'd drop by."

The Twitter feed for the pop-culture blog Videogum went in Bernhard's raunchier direction, posting a fake R-rated quote from "Director of the Golden Globes": "Cut to Ben Kingsley getting a discreet handjob at his table from an escort."

A viewer tweeting from the feed for the website Fashionista took offense at the woman's behavior: "omg get off ben kingsley you're on air."

Guess what: she's Kingsley's fourth wife, Daniela Lavender, who is an actress (and not his daughter or an "escort"). The couple married in 2007, and she accompanied him to the ceremony, like any spouse would.

Kingsley, who scored a best actor Academy nod in 1982 for Gandhi, portrays a grumpy toy maker in Martin Scorsese's Globe-nominated Hugo.
