Harrison Ford will receive the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) 2012 Board of Governors Award, which will be presented at the 26th Annual ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards, February 12 at the Hollywood & Highland Grand Ballroom.

Perhaps best known for his iconic roles as Han Solo in the Star Wars saga and Indiana Jones in the series that started with Raiders of the Lost Ark, Ford earned an Academy Award nomination for his role in Witness. His long list of credits include Apocalypse Now, Blade Runner, Regarding Henry, Patriot Games and The Fugitive.

In 2000, he earned the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition to receiving four nominations from the Hollywood Foreign Press, Ford received the organization’s 2002 Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes.

The actor is currently preparing for a role in Ender’s Game, the film adaptation of the sci-fi novel, and he will star in 42 as Branch Rickey, the Major League Baseball executive who helped shatter baseball's color barrier by making Jackie Robinson the first African-American player in MLB.

The ASC Board of Governors Award is given annually for advancing the art and craft of filmmaking. Previous recipients include Julia Roberts, Warren Beatty, Francis Ford Coppola, Sally Field, Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg.
