PMK*BNC to Represent the National Board of Review
The publicity firm will work on the group's awards gala, set for Jan. 10 in New York.
Publicity agency PMK*BNC has come aboard to represent the National Board of Review as awards season gets underway.
Founded in 1909, the New York-based NBR is comprised of film enthusiasts and professionals, academics, young filmmakers, and students. Traditionally, it has been the first group to announce year-end film honors – it will unveil its 2011 choices on Thursday, Dec. 1 – although this year, the New York Film Critics Circle has jumped to an earlier spot on the calendar and will announce its picks on Nov. 28.
PMK*BNC will be the agency of record for the NBR and will work with the group’s annual Awards Gala, which will be held Jan. 10 at Cripriani 42nd street in New York City.

In addition to its annual awards, the NBR also hands out grants to film students, working with such community outreach programs as The Children's Aid Society, The Ghetto Film School, Reel Works Teen Filmmaking, and Educational Video Center. Earlier this year, the NBR awarded 27 student grants.
