Writers Guild Announces New Media, Video Game Nominees
"Batman: Arkham City," "Assassin's Creed: Revelations" and "Mortal Kombat" are among those recognized in the video game category.
The Writers Guild of America has announced the nominees for writing in new media and video games.
In the outstanding achievement in writing for original new media, the nominees include Heath Corson and Richie Keen for Aim High; Daryn Strauss for Downsized; and Michael Cyril Creighton for Jack in a Box.
Nominees in the derivative new media category include 30 Rock's "Jack Donaghy: Executive Superhero" by Tom Ceraulo; "Mortal Kombat: The Web Series' " Todd and Aaron Helbing; Sons of Anarchy's Kurt Sutter and Gladys Rodriguez; and The Walking Dead's John Esposito and Greg Nicotero.
In the category of video game writing, the teams behind Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Batman: Arkham City, Brink, Mortal Kombat and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception were all nominated.
Winners will be announced during the 2012 Writers Guild Awards on Sunday, Feb. 19 during ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York.
