Rodney Burns, co-owner of West Hollywood's eclectic Church Boutique (an avant garde mix of designer clothes, art and jewelry), calmed the crowd inside his packed, ivy-covered shop Wednesday night around 10 p.m. so everyone could wish Loree Rodkin a happy birthday. Turning to Lenny Kravitz, Burns asked, "Why don't you start us off, Lenny?"

Not only did Kravitz have the best credentials to do so, he epitomized the style of the VIP bash, which almost exclusively featured guests that looked like they worked in fashion or a rock band or a fashionable rock band. So Kravitz accepted Burns' request and did just that, leading with, "Happy..." and "Birthday" followed, thanks to the mostly black-clad guests as Rodkin, a well-known jewelry and accessories designer, was presented with a birthday cake featuring her face. She looked a bit embarrassed by all of the attention (from flashbulbs and famous faces) but later tells THR she's actually just honored.

“I have some amazing friends,” Rodkin admits. "They are eclectic and talented and I love them."

And the feeling seemed to be mutual from the whole lot — everyone from Melanie Griffith, Blaine Halvorson, Robert Standish, Alana and Kimberly Stewart, Bluprint PR's Jill Eisenstadt, Billy Zane, Nicole Mitchell Murphy and Sama Eyewear's Sheila and Ross Vance. Even Norman Reedus, fresh from late-night appearances opposite Jimmy Kimmel and James Corden, says he's grateful to be in L.A. so he could celebrate Rodkin at the bash, which did double duty as a launch party for her couture eyewear collaboration with Sama Eyewear.

“I’ve known her for a long time and she’s always been like family to me. I know she’s accomplished and well thought of but to me, she’s just been a friend right from the beginning. I just love her,” gushes Reedus, who is off to New York next and then Austin for filming on his new AMC motorcycle docuseries Ride With Norman.

Church Boutique's Burns also felt it. “Loree is the epitome and love and rock and roll all rolled into one,” he says, in between bites of her birthday cake, the first thing he's eaten all day, he says, no doubt stuck in party preparations all day until showtime.

Rodkin is also the epitome of a busy body. Following a birthday party on the East Coast at New York's Lafayette thrown by Martina Navratilova and Jane Holzer on Feb. 23, she rushed to L.A. for Oscar week. “I’m going to Vanity Fair, Elton’s and Madonna’s party,” she tells THR of her Feb. 28 plans before heading to Paris on Monday. What about sleep? “I’m packing the day before and I’ll sleep on the plane, let’s put it that way.”
