This Is What Adele Puts in Her Shopping Cart

During the singer's eight sold-out L.A. shows, she gushed about the British-food section in Bristol Farms. "I filled my whole trolley cart," she said.

When most pop superstars do L.A., they hit up hot spots like The Nice Guy or even 1OAK, but not Adele. The singer — in the midst of eight sold-out Staples Center shows that continue through Aug. 21 as part of her massive comeback tour — gushed during an Aug. 9 performance about how much she loves upscale supermarket Bristol Farms.

In fact, she praised the Southern California grocery chain at several of her local shows, singling out its British-foods section, with items such as vinegar and baked beans. "I was in my element," the 28-year-old said, laughing. "I filled my whole trolley cart."

It was a stellar endorsement for the 18,000+ fans in attendance but one that came at the detriment of another popular chain. "I thought the whole world was about Whole Foods until I found Bristol Farms," she joked.

Adele's manager, Jonathan Dickins, who scored an Emmy nomination for best variety special with his superstar client for NBC's Adele: Live in New York City, said they've yet to hear from Bristol Farms directly but that he also enjoys its selections. "We don't really go grocery shopping together, but I've been there and I'm a huge fan of the quality."

As for Bristol Farms, a rep didn't say "hello" to THR's request for comment.

Meanwhile, back inside Staples Center, Adele has been charming fans with her unfiltered onstage banter, dishing on everything from winning an Oscar for her James Bond theme, Skyfall, to turning down an offer to perform at halftime of next year's Super Bowl. "I'm sorry, but maybe next time."
