Benji Cosgrove, Cory Palmer to Write R-Rated Comedy for Escape Artists (Exclusive)
The untitled feature has a winter-related hook.
Rookie screenwriters Benji Cosgrove and Cory Palmer have been hired to write an untitled R-rated comedy for Escape Artists.
The filmmakers are keeping the plotline secret for the moment, but it is known to be a winter-related family comedy. Escape Artists' Todd Black, Steve Tisch and Jason Blumenthal, who originated the idea, are developing and producing.
Repped by UTA and Energy Entertainment, Cosgrove and Palmer are new on the scene but have another R-rated comedy script titled Deadbeat Dad set up at Broken Road Productions with producer Todd Garner (Jack and Jill).
Escape Artists is in post-production on the comedy Great Hope Springs, starring Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones and Steve Carell, which Columbia will release in December 2012. The studio also has the Escape Artists-produced comedy Sex Tape in development. Escape Artists has produced The Back-Up Plan, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 and The Pursuit of Happyness.
