Californication star Madeline Zima has nabbed the lead role in the British psychological thriller Storage. British director Matt Winn is directing from a script he co-wrote with Chris Denne.
The storyline involves a young woman (Zima) who discovers a terrifying secret when she becomes trapped in an underground storage facility with a group of strangers. Mark Shields and Kirk Weddell of Atlantic Picture Company are producing with Gareth Jones serving as executive producer.
"This script is a real page turner with great characters,” says Jones. “Matt's vision will create an intelligent and tense thriller that will keep audiences guessing till the end."
Repped by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment, Zima was a regular on The Nanny and Heroes, and she played a teenaged Lucille Ball in the CBS miniseries Lucy. She now stars on the Showtime series Californication. In film, she has appeared in The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, A Cinderella Story, The Collector and My Own Love Song.
Winn, who is repped by the Dench Arnold Agency, co-wrote and directed the comedy January 2nd.
Denne is repped by the Curtis Brown Group.
