Michael Shannon Shoots James Franco in 'The Iceman' Trailer (Video)
The Ariel Vromen-directed crime thriller opened in Venice this week.
Immediately following its Venice Film Festival debut, a newly-released trailer Ariel Vromen’s The Iceman has hit the web.
Michael Shannon embodies the ultimate duality as a devoted family man and a ruthless killer. The Iceman is based on the true story of hit man Richard Kuklinski, who murdered more than 100 people between 1964 and 1986.
The Hollywood Reporter film critic David Rooney calls the film “gritty, griping and unrelentingly intense,” boasting an all-star cast and “richly detailed character work.” Among Shannon’s co-stars are Winona Ryder, James Franco, Ray Liotta, Chris Evans, David Schwimmer, Robert Davi and Danny Abeckaser.
Vromen wrote the screenplay along with Morgan Land, based on the fictional book by Anthony Bruno and on James Thebaut’s 1992 HBO documentary, The Iceman Tapes: Conversations With a Killer. Following its Venice run, the out-of-competition film is also scheduled to screen at Telluride and Toronto later this year.
