Screenwriter Greg Russo Sells Action Pitch 'Black Ice' to Alloy (Exclusive)
The scribe also has been hired to rewrite Paramount's action flick "Heatseekers."
Screenwriter Greg Russo has sold an action pitch to Alloy Entertainment called Black Ice. Meanwhile, the scribe also has been hired to rewrite the script for the Platinum Dunes actioner Heatseakers at Paramount.
Black Ice is an action-thriller about a group of highly trained thieves who break into a university's research reactor during winter break to steal a cache of stockpiled Uranium and the trio of college students who try to stop them. The contained drama is pitched as Disturbia meets Die Hard. Alloy's Les Morgenstein and Bob Levy are attached to produce.
The Heatseekers project originated from the spec written by George Mahaffey that Paramount picked up last spring. The Top Gun/Ocean's 11 hybrid details the efforts of a young ex-military pilot to infiltrate a gang of aerial "pirates" working out of Bangkok as they pull off a tower heist using powered gliders and parachutes. Platinum Dunes' Andrew Form, Brad Fuller and Michael Bay are producing the summer action film. Chris Morgan (Fast & Furious) is an executive producer.
Repped by ICM and Manage-Ment, Russo also has Daredevil helmer Mark Steven Johnson attached to direct his original action-thriller screenplay I-95. That project is currently casting and seeking financing.
