Destin Daniel Cretton's music-oriented drama I Am Not a Hipster will have its world premiere at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. The NEXT <=> section screening will take place at Prospector Square Theatre at 11:30 am Friday, Jan. 20.

Centered in the San Diego music and art scene, Hipster follows a singer-songwriter forced to reckon with his family when his father and three sisters show up to spread his mother's ashes. Dominic Bogart, Alvaro Orlando, Brad William Henke, Tammy Minoff, Kandis Erickson and Lauren Coleman star.

Paradigm's Ben Weiss is handling sales rights on the film.
