Watch George Clooney in 'The Descendants' Trailer

Alexander Payne's new movie hit theaters December 16.

Fox Searchlight has put out a trailer for The Descendants, Alexander Payne's new movie.

George Clooney stars in a role more in the Up in the Air mold, with its dramatic focus on a man struggling with connection, family and middle age, than the slick characters of Ocean's Eleven or The American.

It hits theaters during the meat of awards season, Dec. 16.
