The dramedy came in fourth place at 8 p.m. and landed in the same ratings ballpark as in the weeks leading up to ABC replacing the show. Though Betty still has a shaggy rating, it's outperformed the comedies ABC recently tried in the slot.

The return of Betty didn't seem to impact Grey's Anatomy (13.9 million, 5.0), which received the same rating as last week and was the highest-rated show of the night. After, Private Practice (9.8 million, 3.5) ended its second season finale on a strong note, up a couple tenths and winning its hour.

  6. ABC to offer shows on Hulu

    4:25 pm 4/30/2009

This is a major step for Hulu, now claiming the bulk of the major broadcast networks under one umbrella site/player. Sure Hulu still doesn't have CBS, but that network's crime procedurals are typically not the biggest online draws anyway.
The most unexpected thing about last night's Lost wasn't the shocker ending, but ABC mind-melding the show's iconic title card with an exclusive clip for Star Trek. There's so many eye-rolling examples of advertiser integration on TV, this was a clever way to keep viewers from fast-forwarding. Here's the Lost-to-Trek transition, plus ABC's exclusive scene -- Kirk being chased by big monster -- from Trek.
