Cartoon Network Shows Spell Funny-Looking Lawsuit
Font Diner, a Minnesota-based company specializing in "premium quality retro fonts," is suing Turner Entertainment and the Cartoon Network for infringing upon several of its fonts in the shows "Camp Lazlo" and "Squirrel Boy."
Yes, fonts. According to the complaint, "Turner has copied and used, and caused others to copy and use fonts comprising the CASINO BUFFET and COUNTY FAIR PICNIC type font sets, as well as the FONTDINERDOTCOM font for the purpose of creating titles broadcast on television on the Cartoon Network..."
The company wants $300,000 in actual damages, plus additional damages for its infringement.
The company's motto should be, "So retro, it's new."
