Fox, BermanBraun Name Legal Executives
The studio promotes three business and legal affairs executives; the production company names David Ho its general counsel.
Fox Networks Group has promoted Kelly Cline to executive vp entertainment business and legal affairs, the biggest in a series of promotions at Fox. Separately, David Ho has joined production company BermanBraun as general counsel.
Fox also has upped two of its business and legal affairs vps: Matthew Bensen, senior vp network distribution business and legal affairs, and Phillip Gharabegian, senior vp in sports business and legal affairs. Cline previously served as business and legal affairs senior vp.
The moves complement an earlier series of business and legal affairs promotions at FNG, announced almost a year ago, that were meant to streamline the network’s content distribution across platforms.
“Kelly, Matt and Phillip have been intimately involved with these cross-platform efforts in the entertainment, distribution and sports areas, and these promotions recognize the valuable role they will play as we take our content businesses to new heights,” said executive vp and general counsel Rita Tuzon in a statement.
Cline will continue to report to Tuzon. Bensen will report to Claudia Teran, evp business and legal affairs and deputy general counsel, and Gharabegian will report to Karen Brodkin, evp business and legal affairs for Fox Sports Media Group.
Ho comes to BermanBraun from Demand Media, where he was vp, assistant general counsel. He previously was a business affairs executive for Fox Cable Networks and Universal Music Group’s digital technology division.
“David has a unique, impressive background within digital media, live television and scripted programming," said BermanBraun heads Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun in a joint statement. "His experience collaborating with established digital and entertainment partners will be of great value as he heads our legal and business affairs team."
