Director Adam Shankman on the Cast of 'Rock of Ages'

Adam Shankman dishes on the cast of Rock of Ages, from the Tom Cruise's first singing lesson to Malin Akerman's fearlessness.  

  When asked about his biggest concern for transitioning a stage production on to the big screen Adam said, "I'm from this era, this was my young adult life, this music was the sound of my life at the time and I wanted to look at it as honestly as possible because the period sort of makes fun of itself in its own way because it was a really wonky sort of boundaryless time. And I wanted to make sure the comedy and emotion were coming from the characters and not from their wigs or costumes, that they weren't always chasing the joke of the era."
