Troy Carter on the Success of the Atom Factory
The founder and CEO of the multi-dimensional entertainment and artist management company on investing in things that he gets excited about.
He started as a music manager (launching Lady Gaga's career), but in the last few years he's become one of L.A.'s leading angel investors, helping finance such red-hot startups as Uber and Spotify, among others. Carter, 41, says his interest in the digital space was "born through a bit of desperation," explaining that when he couldn't get Gaga's songs played on traditional radio at the start of her career, he turned to social media to find her audience.
