Adele earns seven VMA nominations, and will also face off against Perry in the best female video category. Her sophomore record, 21, has notched the most weeks on the Billboard 200 album’s chart since Santana’s Supernatural in 2000. In the UK, 21 became the longest consecutive No. 1 for a solo artist with an 11-week reign. She has sold more than eight million copies to date.
