Katy Perry earned an impressive nine VMA nominations this year, with “Firework” slated to compete in the best female video category as well. The singer has had a banner year so far, recently tying Michael Jackson’s record of sending five singles from an album to the Billboard Hot 100’s No. 1 spot. The Dave Meyers directed video was shot in Budapest.
