Who needs an official trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom when a new behind-the-scenes video gives all manner of glimpses about what to expect? That includes rampaging dinosaurs, creeping-around-in-corridors dinosaurs and Jeff Goldblum.
The teaser for Thursday's first trailer for the movie features stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt, as well as director J.A. Bayona, who all hint at the spectacle that awaits audiences in the follow-up to 2015’s revival of the reanimated dinosaur series. “This story takes dinosaurs and takes Jurassic where it’s never gone before,” Howard says, with the implication being — at least in part — that the island of Isla Nublar is no longer going to be the setting for the series after this installment.
“We’re literally blowing up the island,” Pratt teases, which would suggest a reason for shots where dinosaurs are running in terror from plumes of smoke.
“The challenge of making a sequel is finding the right balance between what people are expecting and what people will be surprised by,” Bayona says at one point, while Howard promises, “It’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before.”
Judge for yourself when the trailer arrives tomorrow. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will roam into theaters June 22.
