The Oscar nominee stars as a doomed gangster in the upcoming adaptation.
The second full-length trailer for the upcoming Murder on the Orient Express adaptation has been released.
The trailer gives a first look at Johnny Depp's character in the 20th Century Fox film. The actor portrays gangster Ratchett, who is a murder victim. "Avenger of the innocent — is that what they call you in the papers?" Ratchett asks world famous detective Hercule Poirot, played by director Kenneth Branagh, in the trailer. The detective skeptically responds, "And you are innocent?" Ratchett than laughs and says, "You're fun."
Following intense shots of the train and a man with a gun accompanied by the sound of a scream, Poirot announces to a number of train passengers, "A passenger has died. He was murdered." As the detective makes his way down the aisle of the train, he says, "Everyone is a suspect. So let's catch a killer."
The Imagine Dragons hit "Believer" plays as the characters become more paranoid throughout the trailer. Poirot makes it clear among his fellow passengers that he will not stop investigating until the murderer has been identified.
The star-studded cast featured in the trailer includes Daisy Ridley, Penelope Cruz, Josh Gad, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Leslie Odom Jr., Tom Bateman, Michelle Pfeiffer, Derek Jacobi, Marwan Kenzari, Olivia Colman, Lucy Boynton and Sergei Polunin.
The film is an adaptation of the 1934 Agatha Christie novel of the same name. This is the third film adaptation of the novel, including the 1974 version directed by Sidney Lumet and the 2001 made-for-TV movie. Murder on the Orient Express is set for release Nov. 10.
