Comedian Ralphie May died after going into cardiac arrest at the age of 45, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed Friday.
May, who was known for placing second on the first season of Last Comic Standing and appeared on Inside Amy Schumer and in his Netflix comedy specials, Ralphie May: Unruly and Ralphie May: Imperfectly Yours, was in the middle of a nationwide tour.
Fellow comedians immediately took to Twitter to express their shock and condolences over the news, with many describing May as "funny" and "kind."
Stand-up comedian Larry the Cable Guy spoke kindly of May as well, saying, "You my friend were one of the nicest and kindest out there."
Actor Ken Jeong, of The Hangover franchise fame, said May helped him "so much." "This hurts too much. [He] helped me so much. Rest In Peace. Thank you for all the love you have given me. Thank you for everything," he wrote.
