'A Star Is Born,' 'BlacKkKlansman' Among Society of Camera Operators Feature Nominees

'A Star Is Born'

The Society of Camera Operators on Thursday announced its feature film award nominations.

Nominees include Michael Fuchs for If Beale Street Could Talk, Mathew Moriarty for The Front Runner, Jody Miller for Beautiful Boy, P. Scott Sakamoto for A Star Is Born and Ricardo Sarmiento for BlacKkKlansman.

As previously announced, the TV category nominees are Mitch Dubin for Legion; Chris Haarhoff and Steven Matzinger for Westworld; Michael Heathcote for The Handmaid’s Tale; Gary Jay for House of Cards; and Ben Semanoff for Ozark.

During the awards ceremony, which will be held Jan. 26 at Loews Hollywood Hotel, Jane Fonda is slated to accept the Governor's Award and Harrison Ford will receive the President's Award.

Special award recipients also include Dave Emmerichs, camera operator; Hector Ramirez, camera operator (live and non-scripted); Jimmy Jensen, camera technician; John Man, mobile camera platform operator, and Peter Iovino, still photographer. The makers of the Cinemoves Matrix 4 Axis Stabilized Gimbal will also be presented a technical achievement award during the evening.
