The Art Directors Guild will present Brad Bird with its Cinematic Imagery Award during its 21st Excellence in Production Design Awards on Feb. 11 in the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood and Highland.

"The ADG is thrilled to recognize the amazing contributions Brad Bird has made to narrative design, while so adeptly creating a visual cinematic legacy for generations to come,” ADG president Nelson Coates said Monday in a statement. “The amazing ways Brad and his teams have elevated the production design of animation and live action have raised and continue to raise the bar for all visual storytellers."

As writer/director, Bird won Oscars for best animated feature for Pixar’s Ratatouille and The Incredibles. And, as a part of Pixar's senior creative team, he contributed to such titles as Up, Wall-E and Toy Story 3.

In animation, Bird also wrote and directed The Iron Giant, while in live action, he directed Paramount’s Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and Disney’s Tomorrowland. His next project, The Incredibles 2, is set for release on June 15, 2018.
