Barry Cottle has been named to the top technology position at Deluxe Entertainment Services Group, where he will assume the title vice-chairman technology. He come over from social game services company Zynga, where he held the role of chief revenue officer.

According to the announcement, Cottle will focus on driving Deluxe’s “relationships with existing and future clients, expanding media partnerships across the entertainment industry and advancing Deluxe’s position in virtual reality, gaming and other digital services ventures.” Deluxe is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MacAndrews and Forbes, for which Cottle will additionally serve as vp technology to “help develop technology strategies and drive digital innovation across the portfolio companies, including Deluxe, where synergies can be created.”

The announcement makes no specific mention of postproduction and Deluxe’s creative services business, but a spokesperson for MacAndrews & Forbes told The Hollywood Reporter that Deluxe is not putting any less focus on postproduction, but rather expanding its services.
