A session on editing comic book movies, as well as a featured conversation with two-time Oscar winner Arthur Schmidt are among the highlights of upcoming EditFest Los Angeles, the annual editing program produced by American Cinema Editors.

Schmidt is the veteran editor who won Academy Awards for Forrest Gump and Who Framed Roger Rabbit , and also edited such classics as Back to the Future and Castaway. Author Bobbie O'Steen will moderate the conversation.

The session on comic book movies will include Ant-Man’s Dan Lebental and Colby Parker Jr., Avengers: Age of Ultron’s Lisa Lassek, Guardians of the Galaxy’s Fred Raskin and Daredevil’s Jonathan Chibnall. Avid's Michael Krulik will moderate.

Another session, ‘From the Cutting Room to the Red Carpet,’ will feature Tom Cross, who won an Oscar earlier this year for editing Whiplash, Elisa Bonora (Glen Campbell...I'll Be Me), Catherine Haight (Transparent) and Wyatt Smith (Into the Woods). ACE president and Oscar winner Alan Heim (All That Jazz) will moderate the discussion.

ACE vp Steven Rivkin (Avatar) will make opening remarks, and editor Norman Hollyn of the USC School of Cinematic Arts will lead a final panel featuring Doug Blush (Twenty Feet From Stardom), Dody Dorn (Memento), Vashi Nedomansky (That Which I Love Destroys Me) and John Venzon (South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut).

EditFest L.A. will be held Aug. 1 at Walt Disney Studios.
