The Hollywood Professional Association announced the winners of its annual HPA Awards for Engineering Excellence, which include some tools that have been used for remote working amid COVID-19.

Winners include Moxion for its Immediates, a system that enables members of production and postproduction teams to share and review each other’s footage remotely, using the Moxion cloud; and Eluvio for its Content Fabric, a video streaming distribution platform for content providers. Engineering Excellence Awards also go to Eizo for its Prominence CG3146 31.1-inch HDR monitor with a built-in calibration sensor, and lens maker Carl Zeiss SBE for its eXtended data / lens metadata technology.

Two additional tools that have been used for remote working received honorable mentions: Frame.io for its camera-to-cloud system and Sohonet for its ClearView Flex technologies.

“We are proud of our industry in these moments where we see that even a global crisis does not break our spirit or the dedication to incredible work," said HPA Awards engineering committee chair Joachim "JZ" Zell.

The 15th annual HPA Awards will be held as a virtual presentation on Nov. 19.
