Oculus to Start Pre-Orders for Rift Virtual Reality Headset on Jan. 6

Oculus announced Monday that it will begin taking pre-orders for its anticipated Rift virtual-reality headset at 8 a.m. PT on Jan. 6, the opening day of CES in Las Vegas.

The company has not yet revealed pricing for the goggles, which when pre-ordered will come bundled with Lucky's Tale by Playful and CCP's EVE: Valkyrie.

Hollywood is eyeing the content side of the emerging VR market, with Fox notably unveiling its The Martian VR Experience this week in Las Vegas.

Facebook acquired Oculus for $2 billion in 2014.
