Oscars: 10 Animated Shorts Advance in Voting Process

Glen Keane and Kobe Bryant's 'Dear Basketball,' as well as Pixar's 'Lou,' are among the shorts that made the cut.

'Dear Basketball'

Ten animated shorts advanced in the voting process for the 90th Academy Awards, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed Monday. Originally, 63 shorts qualified in the category.

The short films and feature animation branch will select the five nominees from this group; voting will be held in January.

The 10 films are:
