WME Signs Samir Arora and His Sage Digital Tech Company (Exclusive)

WME has signed entrepreneur Samir Arora (Mode Media, NetObjects) and his Palo Alto-based tech company Sage Digital, whose AI-enabled mobile platform supports fundraising, payment systems and other online experiences and services. The agency will focus on talent partnerships with its clients.

Sage Digital recently entered into a multimillion-dollar deal with the Marcus Samuelsson Group and WME (which represents Marcus Samuelsson) to create fundraising platform Project Bento, which so far has helped raise $4.8 million for charities such as World Central Kitchen and CityMeals on Wheels.

The platform has been used to launch several fundraisers, including Harlem Serves Up!, this year’s version of co-founder Samuelsson’s annual Harlem EatUp festival; Black Businesses Matter and others that combined have raised more than $500,000 in donations and sponsorships.

The Project Bento site, founded by Arora and Samuelsson along with Derek Evans and Brad Koenig, also aims to provides its services to support restaurants and local, BIPOC-owned businesses impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
