WME Signs CrichtonSun
CrichtonSun Llc., the majority owner of Michael Crichton’s literary estate, has signed with WME for representation in all areas including film, television, digital and traditional publishing. WME will be handling both published and unpublished writings and produced and unproduced works by Crichton.
WME will be working closely with Sherri Crichton, CrichtonSun’s manager/producer, and her producing partner Laurent Bouzereau, and with their current (and future) licensees. CrichtonSun is also represented by attorney Michael S. Sherman of Reed Smith.
Crichton’s books have sold more than 200 million copies worldwide and have been the basis for numerous motion pictures and television series in the world. More than a dozen of his books have been made into motion pictures. He was also the creator and executive producer of the Emmy award winning TV drama ER, which ran on NBC from 1994-2009, and wrote and directed the 1973 science fiction-western thriller film Westworld, adapted into the HBO series, which debuted in 2016.
Crichton’s other work includes the New York Times bestsellers The Andromeda Strain, The Great Train Robbery, Eaters of the Dead, Congo, Sphere, Rising Sun, Disclosure, Air Frame, Prey, Next, State of Fear, Pirate Latitudes, Micro and the posthumously published Dragon Teeth. There are two more posthumous novels set to be published by Harper Collins.
Crichton died in 2008 at age 66 from lymphoma.
