The Librarians and the Lost Lamp, a novel spinning off from the TNT series will arrive in October 2016, publisher Tor Books announced.

The story toggles between the past, as Flynn Carsen (played by Noah Wyle on the TV show) tries to find Aladdin’s Lamp before an ancient criminal organization known as the Forty Seals gets hold of it, and the future, when Eve Baird (Rebecca Romijn) and a new group of Librarians — protectors of ancient artifacts like King Arthur’s sword Excalibur — stumble on a mystery in Las Vegas that seems to relate to the Lamp and the powerful djinn it can summon.

The novel will be written by Greg Cox, who has written best-selling novelizations of The Dark Knight Rises, Star Trek and other movies and TV shows.

Season 2 of the TV show, which stars Romijn, John Larroquette, Lindy Booth, Christina Kane and John Kim and includes guest appearances from Wyle, debuts Nov. 1. The Librarians' first season averaged 11.4 million viewers and was basic cable’s second-highest rated new series of 2014. Dean Devlin, John Rogers, Marc Roskin and Noah Wyle executive produce the TNT series.
