The current issue of the ABA Journal features the magazine’s annual “Blawg 100” list of the best legal blogs in America, and we’re happy to announce that this humble website has been included on the list for the second straight year. We’re particularly proud to have been honored this year in the “News” category with blogs we love published by the Wall Street Journal, American Lawyer, Forbes, National Law Journal, SCOTUSBlog and Above the Law.
From the magazine:
When celebrities battle studios over publicity rights or take their employment disputes to court, The Hollywood Reporter‘s Hollywood, Esq., has the scoop. Tightly written—and, yes, entertaining—the blog also chronicles intellectual property rights assertions and the comings and goings of lawyers working in and around the entertainment industry. As one Hollywood insider tells us, it’s “by far, the best site for entertainment legal matters.”
Well, thanks! And thanks to our lead writer Eriq Gardner for a year of great scoops and unique legal analysis. And of course, thanks to our readers, and to all our sources for sending us great tips.
The ABA Journal is now conducting an online reader poll to determine the best blogs in the different categories. If you’re so inclined, here’s the link to the site to vote for Hollywood, Esq. (or any of the other blogs).
It’s been a wild year in entertainment law. We’ll do a year-end wrap-up of the best Hollywood legal stories, but as a teaser, here are some of our favorite posts from the year:
