Actress Natasha Richardson has been moved from a Montreal hospital after suffering a serious head injury during a skiing accident.
A Sacre-Coeur Hospital spokesperson said Tuesday that Richardson, who was critically injured after a fall a day earlier at the Mont Tremblant resort, was on a flight to the U.S.
Reports in a number of outlets, including the New York Daily News and London’s Evening Standard, said that Richardson, daughter of actress Vanessa Redgrave and director Tony Richardson, was being transferred to New York.
Richardson’s husband, actor Liam Neeson, left the Toronto set of Atom Egoyan’s “Chloe” to be at her side, said a source at Toronto’s Filmport studios.
The British-born Richardson was skiing at the Mont Tremblant resort, about 75 miles north of Montreal. The resort said the actress appeared to be in good condition after her fall but later felt unwell. She was taken to a local hospital and then to the Montreal hospital.
Mont Tremblant spokeswoman Catherine Lacasse said Richardson was getting a private lesson and said she was fine at first.
“An hour later, she said she didn’t feel well. She had a headache, so we sent her to the hospital,” Lacasse said. “There were no signs of impact and no blood, nothing.”
Richardson was preparing to co-star with her mother in a Broadway revival of “A Little Night Music.”
