Alcon Entertainment, has formed a television unit, Alcon Television, to develop, finance and produce original programming for broadcast and cable TV, it was announced by co-CEOs Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove.
Sharon Hall, currently executive vice president of drama at Sony TV, is in negotiations to join Alcon Television as president. She would report to Johnson and Kosove and will operate out of Century City.
At Sony TV, she oversaw the development and production of drama series Unforgettable, Pan Am and Necessary Roughness. She also developed Breaking Bad, Damages, Justified, Drop Dead Diva, Franklin & Bash and HawthoRNe.
“We feel Alcon Entertainment is uniquely positioned to compete in today’s burgeoning television marketplace. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Sharon, whose track record of overseeing both creatively and commercially successful shows, is very impressive,” said Johnson and Kosove in a statement.
She previously worked at MTM Television and BBDO Worldwide.
