After a stint as a CNN commentator, former White House press secretary Jay Carney has found his next job: Amazon exec.
Carney’s new title will be senior vp, tasked with leading the “newly created Global Corporate Affairs department, which will include our existing PR and public policy teams,” an Amazon spokesperson confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
The hiring was first reported by Politico‘s Mike Allen.
Carney served in the Obama White House beginning in January 2011 until May 30, 2014, when he was replaced by the current press secretary Josh Earnest.
In September 2014, Carney joined CNN, where he was featured as a political commentator.
