Filmmakers Lucy Walker, David Robert Mitchell, Gregg Araki and Frederick Wiseman are among the names who’ll be discussing the feature film business at the American Pavilion during the course of the Cannes Film Festival.

As the Pavilion enters its 22nd year, founder and director Julie Sisk said Wednesday that Sundance Institute publicity manager Amy McGee has been named programming director for this year’s edition.
The Pavilion will open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony May 13. The preliminary lineup of panels and discussions consists of:
— May 14: “The Future of Filmmaking: How to Make and Release a Movie in Today’s Climate,” with Walker, John Sloss and Mark Ankner.

— May 20: “Short Films Panel,” with James Franco, Vince Joliette and Sean Durkin; “Emerging Filmmaker Showcase”; and “Blue Valentine,” with Derek Cianfrance, Howell, Alex Orlovsky, Jamie Patricof, Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams.
