Andrew Essex has been named CEO of Tribeca Enterprises.
The announcement was made Thursday by Tribeca Enterprises co-founder Jane Rosenthal.
“Andrew is one of the brightest, most creative minds in the media business. His experience, wit, and vision make him uniquely suited to build on Tribeca’s accomplishments,” said Rosenthal.
In his new position, Essex will be overseeing partnerships, marketing, content and digital strategy and business development.
Essex was founder and CEO of creative agency Droga5. He currently sits on the board of the American Advertising Federation, the iHeartMedia Creative Advisory Council and Venture for America, and is an advisor to the White House Office of Digital Strategy.
“I consider Tribeca to be one of the world’s premier multi-platform storytelling organizations, and I am delighted to be joining this prestigious brand and the brilliant team that Jane and her partners have put together,” said Essex.
Tribeca Enterprises, founded by Rosenthal, Craig Hatkoff and Robert De Niro in 2003, works to help independent filmmakers expand their audience through platforms including the Tribeca Film Festival.
