APA has upped agents Barry McPherson and Josh Humiston to partner.
The pair joins Jim Gosnell, Lee Dinstman, David Saunders, Troy Blakely, Steve Lassiter, Ryan Martin and Matt Ochacher as agency partners.
McPherson, whose roster includes Josh Cooke, Jorge Garcia, Will Sasso, Gary Dourdan, Crispin Glover, Bruce Campbell, Tony winner Viola Davis, Tichina Arnold, Christine Ebersole, Beverly Mitchell, Ron Perlman and John Rhys Davies, will remain vp talent and oversee the agency’s New York theater department. Humiston will stay in APA’s modern-rock department and work with the agency’s music roster, which includes Fleetwood Mac, Lenny Kravitz and Robert Plant.
“Barry and Josh show where hard work will get you in this business,” APA president and CEO Jim Gosnell said. He added that the promotions “help us achieve our goals as an agency and further our position in this business.”
McPherson joined APA in 1993 as an assistant and has been an agent in the company’s talent division for the past 11 years. He was promoted to vp talent in 2001.
Humiston joined APA in 1995 and is the first agent in the agency’s 44-year history to rise from the mailroom to partner. Upped to vp concerts in 2001, Humiston was responsible for launching APA’s modern-rock department. He reps such acts as Flogging Molly, Something Corporate, Jack’s Mannequin and X.
