APA has hired international film literary agent Sandrine De Clercq, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.
De Clercq most recently served as executive producer of the COLCOA French Film Festival. Her roster of international writers and directors includes filmmakers Akin Omotoso and Selma Vilhunen, whose dramas Vaya and Little Wing, respectively, premiered at Toronto this year, as well as Brian O’Malley (Let Us Prey), Francisco Lorite (Mediation), Abel and Burlee Vang (Bedeviled), Ryan Schwartz (Summer of 8), Piero Messina (The Wait) and Jennifer Arnold (A Small Act, The Diplomat, Fat Camp).
“Having grown up in the European entertainment community, Sandrine will bring a unique set of contacts and experience to APA’s growing reach worldwide,” APA partner and head of motion picture lit David Saunders said Friday in a statement.
De Clercq, who holds a law degree from Brussels University and a master’s in media and entertainment economics from the University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, has been an agent before, spending six years at Endeavor representing European and South American screenwriters and film directors. She began her career in business affairs at the French television network TF1.
